La Groove Fatale, directed by Christina King, is Eastern Groove Studio's official belly dance troupe. While other classes at the studio perform at our regular shows at the Martini Room and beyond, La Groove Fatale is the face of the studio, performing at many Elgin events and Chicagoland belly dance shows throughout the year.
Most notably, La Groove Fatale has presented shows for all five years of the Elgin Fringe Festival and has also performed at Nightmare on Chicago Street, Art and Soul on the Fox, Bites and Bikes on the Fox, The Elgin International Festival, and Elgin Celebrates the Holidays at the Hemmens Cultural Center. They also present annually at Tribal Revolution, the Midwest's largest and longest running belly dance festival event. Of course, they are a staple of Belly Dance Wednesdays at the Martini Room in Elgin.
La Groove Fatale is made up of the studio's most advanced and most dedicated dancers who also happen to be career women, wives, mothers, and yes, one grandmother. They take time out of their busy schedules to come together to create works of art for the stage. Their performance schedule can be found on our events page.
